Project Title: Development of assays to measure translational markers to characterize placental vascular on-a-chip model
Camilla Soragni obtained her Master’s Degree in “Sustainable Chemistry and Technologies” from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. During her master thesis she developed a project focused on the comparison of cellular uptake and toxicity of silver nanoparticles on human lungs epithelial cells. For this project she collaborated with University of Padua to develop the biological part of the thesis. Because of this experience and her personal interest in the biological area she decided to broaden her knowledge in this area by attending to a Master of Research in “Chemical Biology” at Imperial College London. Her MRes project was focused on the electrochemical detection of free haemoglobin, and it was realized under the supervision of Prof Alan C. Spivey, Prof Tony Cass and Dr Gregory Quinlan. At the moment she is a PhD at Mimetas, Leiden under the supervision of Dr Henriette Lanz and Dr Chee Ping Ng.
