Chee Ping Ng obtained his Masters and PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University in 2002 and 2005 respectively, creating physiological-relevant perfusable three dimensional (3D) cell culture models and elucidating the biological effects of interstitial flow. He has since gone on to innovating biomaterials for enhanced intracellular gene delivery and stem cell expansion, engineering bioartificial kidneys and developing microwell array technologies for functional cytometry of rare cell populations in clinical specimens at the University of Washington (Seattle), A*STAR Singapore and Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). In his current role at MIMETAS, he is a senior scientist in assay development with emphasis on the establishment, optimisation and validation of assays in the MIMETAS OrganoPlate® platform. He co-supervises ESR2 of the iPlacenta consortium with Henriette Lanz.
