Project Title: Identification of placental derived angiomodulatory extracellular vesicles
Natalia recently graduated with a biochemistry degree from Nottingham during which she also completed a year's work research placement in cardiovascular disease at University of Navarra, located in the north of Spain, specialising in in vitro assessment of the biological function of cardiomyocyte derived extracellular vesicles and their effect on endothelium.
At university her final year project consisted of profiling and characterisation of microparticles and extracellular vesicle derived miRNA from Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia resistant cells.
Through the research experience and academic studies, she has developed a strong passion for clinical research because of the nature of the challenge and reward it brings in its potential to help others.
