Project Title: Consequences of intra-uterine growth restriction on feto-maternal hemodynamics and brain development in the rabbit model
Ignacio obtained his degree as a Medical Doctor in 2013 at Universidad de Los Andes, in Santiago, after which he specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the same University. He participated in the Reproductive Biology Laboratory during his clinical training given his strong interest in Research and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and has been working in Obstetric Ultrasound and high-risk pregnancies for the last year. His main objective is to investigate the wide range of effects placental insufficiency has on both the mother and the foetus, and to develop tools able to further understand and evaluate how the normal and insufficient placenta perform in an animal model of IUGR.
