7th April: The call for abstracts has now closed. If you have submitted an abstract you can expect to hear from us in the week from 12th April.
Symposium format
The symposium is led by the EU-funded Innovative Training Network "Innovation in modelling Placenta for Maternal and Fetal Health" (iPLACENTA) in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand Placental Research Association (ANZPRA).
Its aim is to give early-career researchers an opportunity to showcase their work and allow discussions and networking with members of the two groups.
Guest speakers, experts in the field of placental research and pregnancy complications, will share their expertise by giving plenary talks and participate in the discussion groups.
Thematic Areas of the Symposium:
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy affect up to 10% of pregnancies worldwide, which includes the 4% of all pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia, and are a major cause of maternal mortality and morbidity, preterm birth, perinatal death, and intrauterine growth restriction.
Section 1: Next generation models and diagnostics of Preeclampsia and IUGR Section 2: Adverse pregnancies, a stress test for further maternal complications
